Sometimes I am inclined to believe…

- Lab timetable, worksheets and equipment not ready.
Semester starts in three days!

- The staff to student ratio is at chronic levels at the department now, and
will get worse come February unless replacements come in, and fast.
Lecturers are hard to get considering UM’s policy now of only hiring PhD
holders. I wonder what the wage structure’s like? Could be a factor too.

- Have to modify/revamp my Masters research project because the previous plan
has become redundant.

- Notes for two subjects I’m conducting not prepared yet. Semester starts in
three days!

- In the interest of becoming a "world-class" research institute, the university has asked all departments to come out with an annual report book. Due date 29th December. Guess who’s been given this most prestigious of tasks? Go on, just guess…

- Not only is the EAC (Engineering Accreditation Council) coming next month,
but the publicity we’ve received lately means their bosses want to come
as well. They could well be the most important people to ever visit the
faculty, and we’re the target. Impress them and we’re heroes of UM; if not, it’s
catastrof**k time (and the previous batch which graduated will not be
recognised by the body).

- The lab’s in a mess. Until a proper lecturer comes in, I’ve been put in charge. So I’ll be doing some proper arranging and cleaning up. If you’re gonna do something, might as well do it properly.

- I MIGHT again be asked to guide our exchange students to a trip on Christmas day. Not confirmed yet (though looking at how my luck’s going at the moment, you just know what’ll eventually happen, don’t you?).

- Need to prepare a letter to be sent to Registration Department so that those students can take subjects next semester. I think I forgot to mention that the SEMESTER STARTS IN THREE DAYS!
